Windows Mobile duplicate contacts

I’ve been having this problems ever since I got into Windows Mobile. There are way too many ways to sync the contacts, and they don’t work well together.

1. Syncing contacts with Windows Live (I use a hotmail account)

2. Syncing contacts with Outlook

3. Syncing contacts with Microsoft My Phone

All these things working together makes duplicate contacts. It’s crazy! I had even 5 entries of the same contact in the phone one time.

I have to do something about it. If they can’t work well together, I can’t have them operate together.

So what I did was, disable syncing contacts with Outlook and now I only sync contacts with Windows Live Contacts. But because of the earlier duplicate contacts, Windows Live already has duplicate contacts. First I have to merge them in Windows Live Contacts, which is what I’m doing right now, and then sync these new contacts with the Phone and everything will *hopefully* be fine.

Before doing the syncing with Windows Live Contacts and the phone, I’m gonna make a backup of contacts in CSV format just in case.

After that, I will let My Phone back up my contacts and hopefully it will go well too. I’m sad that a lot of things in this *job* is certain. >_>
